Shelli Margolin-Mayer

Los Angeles Business Broker Shelli Margolin has a solid background in business sales and acquisitions. Her expertise lies in selling restaurants, retail and various service and professional businesses. 

Her background in business and restaurant permitting and liquor licensing adds a unique knowledgebase to her work as a business intermediary. During her 15 years in municipal economic development, she handled permitting processing for restaurants and liquor licenses from the inside. 

Her understanding of retail operations comes from a successful stint as a multi-store retail manager and an early experience in an executive management training program at Carter Hawley Hale.  She has learned the various challenges of running storefront businesses from retail management and years of working with merchant associations.

Shelli understands the needs of small businesses that are individually owned and operated. She helps her clients prepare for selling their business by highlighting areas of profit in their financial books and records.  Thus, buyers see the real - often hidden - value of the business.   And, she can smoothly close deals, where others run into obstacles.

One of the challenges of selling a business is buyer financing.  Shelli’s expertise in creative financing vehicles results in higher final sales prices for her client’s businesses.  During her career in municipal economic development, she helped prepare and package local businesses for their successful sale using several funding tools.

Shelli has a master’s degree in international policy, is fluent German and cross cultural communications.  Growing-up in Valencia, she is native of Southern California and has lived in both Norway and Germany. Shelli has been a “big sister” in Big Brother/Sister of America for over 10 years.  Besides belonging to various volunteer and business organizations, she enjoys the sport of Orienteering, hiking and occasionally participates as an improv comedy performer.
