Roland has three decades of experience across capital markets, entrepreneurship, and private investment. He advises founders, owner-operators, and middle-market CEOs on business sales, acquisitions, and ownership transitions, bringing a disciplined, analytical approach grounded in real-world operating and investing experience.

Roland began his career in institutional finance, spending over 25 years in investment banking and capital markets roles covering Asian equity markets and advising institutional investors, hedge funds, and family offices. This background developed his ability to evaluate businesses, assess risk, and manage complex negotiations—capabilities that translate directly to effective M&A execution for privately held companies.

Alongside his financial career, Roland is an entrepreneur and principal investor. He founded Hand in Hand Productions, a film production and financing company through which he helped raise capital for several independent film projects.   These projects required balancing creative vision with financial discipline, investor expectations, and distribution realities—experience that mirrors the challenges faced by founders navigating liquidity events.

Roland later founded and led a venture-backed digital media marketplace, BidSlate, Inc., raising over several million in private capital and guiding the company through a successful acquisition in 2024. In parallel, Roland served as Executive Producer on three feature-length documentaries.   He was also a real estate investor for more than 12 years, providing him with firsthand experience in valuation, leverage, cash-flow management, and long-term capital planning—perspectives that resonate strongly with owner-operators who have built wealth through their businesses.

As an M&A advisor, Roland works closely with business owners to assess transaction readiness, establish realistic valuation expectations, and position companies effectively for qualified buyers. He manages transactions from initial engagement through closing, overseeing buyer outreach, negotiations, and due diligence while coordinating with legal, tax, and financial advisors. He is particularly attuned to the emotional and practical complexities founders face when considering a transition.
